The Danza Viva Spanish Dance Company was formed to give professional dancers a platform and an opportunity to explore the huge variety and depth of the Flamenco and Spanish Dance repertoire in the theatre and concert hall. Its reputation stems from the fact that most of its dancers are classically trained, and as such, are able to tackle a wide range of dance topics and styles. The company's mission is to eliminate the "rose-in-the-teeth" image that people have of Flamenco and to present to the public instead, a memorable theatrical experience of Flamenco and Spanish dance as an elevated and complete art form. The Company's repertoire is extensive and ever increasing, with new works being choreographed every season, ranging from pieces based on Spanish regional dances, to complex Flamenco choreographies, to full blown orchestral works. Below you will find photographic samples of only a few of the many events it has been involved with, in the course of its brief history. Many more will be added as the resources become available. The series of photos are grouped in galleries, devoted to different works and events. Larger, full-size pictures may be seen by clicking any and all of the thumbnails in each gallery. |
